1. Hi! Thanks for liking my blog :-). German and Chinese – that’s a killer combo!! Add Russian and Spanish – you’ll be the perfect globe-trotter soon.

   I thought I might try contacting you: we’re looking to organise translation events with Marco Polo Project in different cities around the world – and I was wondering whether you might be interested in helping us in the UK, or knew someone you could :-).    • Hi! 😀 Haha, I’m really enjoying learning these languages so I’m just glad to see that they’ll be useful in the future as well.

     Thanks for the information about the Marco Polo Project too. I don’t think I’m in a position myself to help that much this year, but I am doing a translation and interpretation module next semester, so I will endeavour to pass the information onto my tutor. (And even if I can’t help this year, I’m sure I’ll be able to at some point in the near future.)

   What languages are you working on at the moment? I hope we can share language learning tips and resources.

   • Hi – no problem, your blog is really interesting! 🙂 I’m working on German and Chinese (as always) and from Monday, I’m going to start doing some more for Spanish, too. I see that you’re working towards taking the HSK5 – how’s that going?

3. Should you be interested in Arabic, Javanese and Indonesian (which is so similar to Malay but very different in its use), I can help. I live in London.

   • Thank you! Those languages aren’t necessarily on my hit list right now, but I could definitely see Indonesian or Arabic being of great interest in the future 😀 so yeah, if I start them, I’ll get in touch.

5. Hello Charlotte, I am also a huge fan of languages! Due to the fact that I’m teaching in China, I’m currently learning Chinese as well. I have studied (a bit) Japanese and will continue it once I’m in university (it will be my minor). In university I will also focus on Korean! I’m glad I’ve found your blog! 😊

6. 你好！好开心能找到你的博客! I’m really interested to learn languages, but so far I haven’t reached that high a level of fluency in any foreign language. I think following you might motivate me to try harder to learn! 华文是我的母语 ，所以当我看到你学华文时，感到十分兴奋。我是从新加坡来的 🙂 好不容易能找到一位可以讲华语的洋人哦！你真的是太了不起了！顺便说一句，我是新加坡人。I’m not precisely fluent in Mandarin, so please excuse mistakes.

7. hi!! I want learn english 🙂 .. Im trying to watch english series tv like Glee to learn. Is it a good method?

   • If you like Glee, then yes, that’s a really good method! I love watching TV to learn languages – but remember to try and use some of the words/phrases you hear, too! 😀
